Car seat laws for my state?
My neighbor told me my daughter should still be in a booster seat but her doctor said she is more than big enough for a regular seat belt. She is 7 and weighs 58 pounds and is really tall…not sure exactly how tall she is now. She is also going on vacation with my parents and I want to make sure they have her booster seat if it is required.
Where can I find out the exact laws for FL and NH? Thanks!
Florida law says children under the age of 5 must be retrained in a booster seat.
New Hampshire law says children under the age of 6 years or 55 inches tall must be restrained in a booster seat.
Of course, it is a good idea to keep them in a booster seat until 80 pounds. Most seats now have that weight limit.

Its a nationwide rule to have your child in a booster seat until they are 75 pounds.

I would google it. I know that my state is 8 years old or 80 lbs.

In NH you only have to have a child in a booster seat until age 6.
In FL they do not have "booster seat" laws, they have child safety seat laws for children under age 3.
That being said, according to boosterseat.gov a child up to 4′9" needs to be in a booster seat – so that will depend on your child’s height.

Bambamgee29 has the right answer. The police will even install the seat properly for you.
I just attended a driver safety course this weekend for ins. savings in my state and they said every 2 yrs, child seats become outdated for safety issues, so please check the age of your seats and make sure they are up to date. We have child-seat safety checks from time-to-time in our area and it would be highly recommended that everyone take advantage of it.
Also, if you have several vehicles that your child rides in, put a separate child seat in each one so you don’t have to keep unlatching it. A high percent of people don’t secure the seat tight enough when moving from vehicle to vehicle which ups the danger of a child getting hurt if in an accident.
Please check with the local police, your Dr may not be up to date on the new rules.
